Abstract

The Kosovo conflict and its consequences, particularly the Western recognition of Kosovo as an independent state in 2008, have brought about notable changes in international politics. From the outset, most scholars predicted that this development would significantly influence contemporary international relations. The global community has been divided into two opposing camps: one side argued that recognizing Kosovo's independence could undermine the existing international order, while the other side viewed it as the only viable and effective resolution to the conflict. Against this backdrop, the concluding section of the paper seeks to address a critical question: Is the resolution of the Kosovo issue truly a unique case, or could it serve as a negative precedent, potentially triggering a domino effect on the global stage?
