Articles in CUDES journal (Journal of Current Debates in Social Sciences, ISSN 2632-1734) have so far been published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0). From 24 October 2026, the publisher, IJOPEC Publication Limited, will relicense all previously published articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). All new articles will also be published under CC BY 4.0.
Why: CC BY 4.0 is a more open licence. Anyone may read, share and reuse the articles, including for commercial purposes, as long as the authors and the original publication are properly credited. It is the licence recommended by the Budapest Open Access Initiative and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and it increases the visibility and indexing of our authors' work.
What does not change: authors remain the authors of their work and are always credited. DOIs, citation details and page numbers stay the same. Copies already shared under CC BY-NC 4.0 remain valid under that licence.
Authors who object to this change for their article are kindly asked to write to cudesjournal@gmail.com by 23 October 2026. If we do not hear from an author by that date, the article will be relicensed under CC BY 4.0.
